U.S. Practice in Vibration Control During Museum Construction Projects

Protecting museum collections against potentially damaging construction vibration is of paramount importance. Significant advances have been made recently in the practice of vibration control during museum construction projects in the United States.

In this article, structural engineer Arne Johnson and instrumentation engineer Bob Hannen summarize the current state of practice for construction-related vibration control at museums in the United States and identify areas where further development would be useful.
