The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) PPO plans provide comprehensive medical coverage via a nationwide network of providers. Choose either the Low Deductible PPO Plan or the High Deductible PPO Plan with Health Savings Account. BCBSIL plan participants have 24/7 access to doctors and mental health professionals via phone or digital device, Diabetes and Hypertension Management programs, Smoking Cessation and Weight Management programs, the Well onTarget® wellness portal, Fitness Center Discounts, and much more. Coverage begins on your first day of eligible employment.
The Delta Dental of Illinois plan provides comprehensive dental coverage via a nationwide network of providers. Orthodontia benefits are available to both children and adults. The Delta Dental Enhanced Benefits Program provides additional services for participants with specific health conditions. Coverage begins on your first day of eligible employment.
The VSP vision plans provide comprehensive benefits for eye care and corrective eyewear via a nationwide network of providers. Choose either the Standard Plan or the Buy-up Plan for additional vision benefits. Discounts are also available on services such as laser vision correction and retinal screening. 401(K) RETIREMENT SAVINGS PLAN
Save for retirement by contributing to the our 401(k) plan, administered by Fidelity. We match 110% ($1.10 for each dollar contributed) of the first 6% of pay contributed to the plan, and our matching contributions are immediately vested. You're eligible to enroll in the plan immediately upon eligible employment.
HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNT (HSA)
When you enroll in our High Deductible PPO Plan, you're eligible to set aside pre-tax dollars in an HSA, administered by Fidelity. HSA funds can be used un-taxed to pay for eligible health-related expenses or saved and invested for the future. We make a generous contribution to employee HSAs. You're eligible to open an HSA immediately upon eligible employment.
FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNTS (FSA)
The Health Care FSA and Dependent Care FSA enable you to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible expenses. Health Care FSA funds can be used un-taxed to pay for eligible health-related expenses; Dependent Care FSA funds can be used un-taxed to pay for eligible dependent care expenses. You are eligible to open an FSA immediately upon eligible employment.
Set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible transit and parking expenses incurred when commuting to and from work. You are eligible to open a Commuter Account immediately upon eligible employment.
LONG TERM CARE INSURANCE (LTC)
Purchase Chubb Life with LTC insurance to pay for Long Term Care expenses not covered by traditional health and disability insurance. If long-term care is needed, a percentage of the death benefit will be paid on a monthly basis for up to 75 months, and a minimum death benefit is guaranteed. Life with LTC insurance is portable and can be maintained even if you leave WJE.
Take Time Away
You'll receive between ten and twenty days of paid vacation time, depending on your years of service and position level. You will begin to accrue vacation time immediately upon eligible employment. Vacation time may be used in advance of accrual, and unused vacation time may be carried over to the following year.
Paid sick time is available for absences related to your health or the health of a family member. We do not limit paid sick time to an annual accrued amount. Employees are trusted to use sick time appropriately and reasonably.
We observe the following eight holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
New birthmothers receive eight weeks of Short-Term Disability (STD) benefits (which pay 100% of base compensation) during leave taken within twelve months following childbirth. An additional two weeks of paid parental leave is available following the expiration of STD benefits. You are eligible for STD benefits and paid parental leave following six months of eligible employment.
New parents may take up to two weeks of paid parental leave within the first twelve months following a child's birth, adoption, or foster care placement. You are eligible for paid parental leave following six months of eligible employment.
Manage the Unexpected
LIFE INSURANCE AND ACCIDENTAL DEATH & DISMEMBERMENT (AD&D) INSURANCE
We provide Group Life and AD&D insurance through UNUM in the amount of your annual base compensation, at no cost to you. Coverage begins on your first day of eligible employment. You may choose to purchase Supplemental Life and AD&D insurance and may also purchase life insurance for your spouse or domestic partner and eligible children. Group Life insurance and Supplemental Life insurance are portable and can be maintained even if you leave WJE.
SHORT-TERM DISABILITY (STD) BENEFITs
We provide STD benefits, at no cost to you, which pay 100% of your base compensation when you're unable to work due to a non-work-related illness or injury lasting more than five consecutive days, or in the event of childbirth. You are eligible to receive STD benefits following six months of eligible employment.
LONG-TERM DISABILITY (ltd) BENEFITs
We provide LTD benefits through UNUM, at no cost to you, which pay 60% of your base compensation when you are unable to work for more than 180 continuous days due to a non-work-related illness or injury. Eligible employees may choose to purchase additional LTD insurance to cover loss of bonus or incentive income.
Learn & Grow
We provide 100% tuition reimbursement to eligible employees for qualified courses related to their role at WJE, up to two courses per term. Eligible employees may take advantage of this program after completing six months of employment.
We provide reimbursement of expenses related to membership in qualified professional organizations, job-related certifications and registrations, and continuing education and enrichment activities. Eligible employees may take advantage of this program after completing six months of employment.

Care for Your Family
EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP)
Our EAP, administered by UNUM, provides confidential, professional assistance and referral services to you and your family members free of charge, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
We provide financial adoption assistance in the amount of 90% of eligible expenses, to a maximum of $10,000 per child.
COLLEGE MATCHING GIFT PROGRAM
We will match your gifts to qualifying educational institutions, to a maximum of $1,000 per calendar year.
