Lemieux Receives Award of Merit from ASTM International

Architect and Principal Dan Lemieux received ASTM International’s top annual award—the 2024 Award of Merit—for his contributions to ASTM’s Committee on Performance of Buildings.

Dan was recognized for his support of construction industry education, development of ASTM’s membership, and dedication to getting standards into practice. The award, which includes the accompanying title of Fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM International committee activities. The award was bestowed recently during an event in Philadelphia.

An ASTM International member since 1995, Dan had been previously honored by the committee with the Robert J. Painter Memorial Award (2012) for his leadership in the development of the ASTM Building Enclosure Commissioning standards.

In 2021, Dan was elevated to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects in part for his work with ASTM International and the National Institute of Building Sciences to strengthen building science education for architects. He is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology and is currently leading a course in failures and forensics in our built environment at Georgia Tech.
