Optimizing Facade Retrofits—Improve the Frame as Well as the Glass
Most retrofit projects focus on upgrading the glass, but these upgrades don't fix heat loss through old, non-insulated aluminum frames, which can stay cold and let heat pass through easily.
In a recent USGlass Insights and Inspirations column, Associate Principal Sarah Sinusas spoke with author Helen Sanders about why facade retrofits need to address both the glass and the frame.
Sarah shared the biggest challenges she encounters with retrofits and discussed solutions that building owners should consider.
