Michael Monroe

Experience

Joining WJE in 2023, Michael Monroe is a multidisciplined architect and engineer specializing in the design, development, and construction of building envelopes and structural glazing systems. His facade experience extends to multiple building types and materials, from design through construction. With his unique expertise, Mr. Monroe’s creativity and technical acumen are invaluable in bringing ambitious design concepts to life, without sacrificing performance.

Prior to WJE, Mr. Monroe worked as a glass engineer, where he performed structural analysis and developed shop drawings for custom glazing systems and specialty structures. He also worked as a building envelope consultant, where he helped manage the design and construction of complex facade typologies and lightweight envelopes throughout North America and Asia. Mr. Monroe optimized glazing and framing systems, long-span grid shells, and multistory cable walls.
